GENERAL
DESCRIPTION
Biochar's high carbon content and stable structure make it a powerful tool for long-term carbon sequestration, locking carbon in the soil for centuries. Its porous nature enhances water retention, ensuring moisture availability for plants during dry periods. This improved moisture balance, combined with biochar’s ability to enhance soil health, leads to higher yields in agricultural systems. Additionally, the same porous structure provides an ideal microbial habitat, fostering beneficial microbial activity that further improves nutrient cycling and soil fertility.

Biochar in Action
01
02
Improved Soil Fertilily
It contains essential minerals, such as calcium, potassium, and magnesium, that are crucial for plant growth. These minerals are released slowly over time.
03
Enhanced Water Retention
Its porous structure allows it to retain water effectively, reducing the need for frequent irrigation and making crops more resilient to drought conditions.
04
Increased Microbial Activity
Biochar creates an ideal habitat for beneficial soil microorganisms. These microorganisms enhance soil fertility by breaking down organic matter into nutrients that plants can readily absorb.
05
Soil Ph Regulation
Biochar helps buffer soil pH, making it more suitable for plant growth. This is particularly beneficial for acidic soils.
06
Improved Soil Structure
By increasing soil aggregation, it enhances soil structure, leading to better root development and improved water and nutrient circulation.
Enhanced Nutrient Retention
07
Biochar reduces nutrient leaching by capturing and storing nutrients that would otherwise be lost. This ensures more nutrients are available to plants over time.
Soil Remediation
Biochar reduces nutrient leaching by capturing and storing nutrients that would otherwise be lost. This ensures more nutrients are available to plants over time.
Our biochar, is a top-tier soil enhancer derived from environmentally-friendly pyrolysis of sustainably sourced hardwood residues. The process used in creating biochar traps carbon that would have otherwise been released as carbon dioxide during incineration, effectively sequestering it. This results in an organic soil conditioner that enriches and rejuvenates any soil type.
With biochar, your soil's water retention capability is significantly boosted and thanks to its high porosity, microbial activity is enriched, leading to a more nutrient-dense environment. This, in turn, ensures that your plants or crops thrive with less effort on your part.
Our Biochar
Lab Results

With a remarkable 84% carbon content and a hydrogen-to-carbon ratio of 0.24, is among the best globally. Its high carbon content enables long-term carbon sequestration, significantly contributing to climate change mitigation. When applied to soil, it enhances fertility by improving nutrient retention, moisture capacity, and soil health while promoting sustainable agriculture. Produced primarily from hardwood forestry residues, our Biochar ensures superior quality and performance, making it a vital tool in combating climate change and supporting environmental sustainability.

Our Process

Our Raw Material
Our biochar is made from recycled hardwood residues sourced from ABT-certified sawmills, which would have otherwise been incinerated. These residues are donated to us, allowing us to repurpose them into biochar, offering key advantages over other feedstocks. Its high carbon content enhances nutrient and water retention, making it an excellent soil amendment for promoting plant growth and boosting crop yields. With a slow decomposition rate, it provides long-lasting soil fertility. Additionally, hardwood biochar improves soil structure and increases water-holding capacity, reducing irrigation needs and fostering more resilient agriculture. Overall, it plays a vital role in sustainable and productive farming.

Biochar Use in Agriculture
Our biochar is a perfect soil enhancer for your crops. When using it, keep in mind that application rates are site-specific, and soil testing is recommended to determine your specific needs. Biochar should be mixed with an inoculant (NPK, humic acid, etc.) to optimize its effects on the soil. Since biochar does not degrade, a single application can provide long-lasting benefits. Field application rates between 4–10 tons/hectare have consistently shown positive impacts in numerous studies.
-
To improve soil moisture content: Apply 4 tons/ha or 10 m³/ha as the minimum effective rate.
-
To improve soil organic matter levels: Apply 5 tons/ha or 25 m³/ha.
Our biochar is delivered in big bags of 250 kg or by truckload.

Planting Rows:
-
Incorporate biochar mixed with an inoculant into the soil surface by hand or using a lime, manure, or compost spreader.
-
It should be incorporated to the depth that the roots will reach.
Large Annual Crop Extensions:
-
Aim for 5% to 10% by volume of the top layer of cultivated soil.
-
This can be done incrementally over several years.
-
Incorporating a layer of biochar to a depth of 100 mm will achieve 5% by volume.
-
A 6 mm layer of biochar covering one hectare is equivalent to 25 cubic meters.
To Amend the Soil During Cultivation:
-
Incorporate 5% to 10% of biochar into the top layer of soil.
-
If cultivating up to 100 mm deep, incorporating 6 mm of biochar will achieve a 5% volume.
-
Apply 10 tons per hectare for intensive row crops.
-
If using pure biochar without compost or fertilizers, it’s advisable to follow the amendment with a cover crop of legumes to promote nitrogen fixation.
Non Perennial Crops

Perennial Crops
Application Modalities
Trenching:
-
Apply biochar mixed with an inoculant directly into planting rows or holes, ensuring it reaches the root zone.
-
Dig a trench or pit on both sides of the plant to the root depth, as biochar must interact with roots to be effective.
-
Use 5% to 10% by volume.
Liquid Injection and Fertigation:
-
Micronized biochar can be suspended in water and injected into the root zone of perennial crops or fertigated.
-
For existing plantations, repeated surface applications should be made in or between rows.
-
Mixing it with compost or fertilizer reduces the risk of loss, as biochar must contact the root zone for optimal results.
To Amend Soil During Cultivation:
-
Incorporate 5% to 10% of biochar into the topsoil.
-
For 5 inches of soil depth, 6 mm of biochar achieves a 5% volume.
-
Apply 4 tons per hectare for vineyards and orchards.
-
If using pure biochar without compost or fertilizers, follow up with a legume cover crop to promote nitrogen fixation.
